Week 8

Aqua 6 – Evergreen 7
We lose a close one at time cap to Evergreen. I myself definitely hope to see this team again in playoffs.

Aqua – Gold
Prior to this game with Gold there had been some mild smack talk between Josh, Jenny, and I on which team would come out the victor.

After our first game with Evergreen, Aqua decided to try to have better spirit through good natured heckling and a little use of the megaphone.

What was the outcome of this new attitude? We promptly go down 0-4 to the Gold team.

After finding ourselves down 0-4 I find solace in the fact that we at least have a cooler of drinks that we will obviously be able to attend to shortly. But our date with our drinks was delayed since Aqua pulled off the comeback of the summer rattling off 6 points in a row, winning at time cap 6-5. Josh and Jenny I’m sure earlier you meant that you we going to beat us to 4 in our game;)

Jon- Was not able to attend this week.

Becca- Was not able to attend this week.

Gerard- Was not able to attend this week.

Tate- Was not able to attend this week.

Ryan- Apparently Ryan has a boo boo on his big toe. As an actuary he knows that having 9 toes would be less than the normal 10 toes, so he decided to sit out another week.

Jim- See Ryan’s post last week. J/K it was nice to have Jim back this week despite missing his favorite receiver his force side flicks looked good.

Phillip- Phillip unveiled a hidden talent after the games. He can do a standing backflip. I’m pretty sure this move has to be worked into some sort of isolation scheme. (I wonder if he can do a flip with cleats on?)

Matt- As always had the task of guarding the best player on the other team. Matt did a great job with this.

Angela- Guys on other teams really seem to like Angela! They like Angela so much, that in at least two instances this week guys from the other teams have tackled her onto the ground just to get close to her. Despite finding herself at the bottom of the pile twice in a “no contact” sport Angela was able to get great production and take her lumps in stride. On the bright side it could have been worse, just think if the pile up was with Paul, Brophy and Cody. Angela could have been at the bottom of a hot, sweaty, hairy, and heavy mess that can’t throw.

Brady- Brady had promised that he would do some handling for us, but did not. Next time he is back in the line-up look for some sweet full field throws from Brady. If we are lucky Angela can catch them without being tackled from behind.

Chuck- Chuck played a few quality points for us at the end of the Gold game. Although since Chuck was guarding Josh W. on Gold (Who runs about as much as Cody Johnson) I’m sure he felt like he hardly played at all.

Dan- Dan sported some new cleats this week. They are almost as bright as his shorts. I believe that it is his secret to getting open. Since his attire is almost as bright as the sun his defenders really can’t keep an eye on him at all times allowing him to get open at will.

Josh- Josh continues to play well for us. He is good at making a reset cut and has good throws.

Jeremy- Jeremy is much faster than he looks.

Chops- The carnie in me wants to say that Chop’s is about 6ft tall. The common sense in me has to ask the question how does a 6ft guy not get the disk over a 5ft 4 Asian guy?

Miz- To be honest at this point I can’t recall much of Miz’s play on Wednesday. However I do recall a good time on the sideline. By far my favorite was Miz telling Bris on Gold to call a foul. Instead of “Just Do It”, I believe the phrase was “Just Call It”.
