Week 2
Team Apricot-
Thanks for all those who showed up to play. It was a tough two games but I feel we made great strides on cutting the second half of the second game. I'm enjoying seeing the progression of this team and some of the newer players. Stay positive too because we were missing 3 solid players so we will be that much more competitive in the next coming weeks.
Looks like next week we will have everyone but Magon according to the attendance on the iowaultimate website. So we will have a decent amount of subs and will have to keep rotating.
Highlights
-Handlers had pretty good patience with the disc dumping and swinging when it was there.
-Justin great grabs (especially the hammer I threw to you)
-Hannah AMAZING grab on the sideline for the score even after Dylan tackled you (probably the most action he's got all week! JUST KIDDING DYLAN!)
-Kyair I like that you were more patient with the strike cuts giving a chance for the stack to make more cuts and once the stack gave you more cuts you did well with the disc
-Kacy way to get out there and give it your all even if that meant almost puking on the field :)
-Rob great cuts and the grounds crew thanks you for helping cut the lawn in a couple of spots :)
-Anthony keep asking questions and keep giving your best but more importantly keep cutting great job that second half of the second game
-Rohan great cuts once our handlers get a feel for how you play the game you will see the disc a lot more
-Grant it's always great to have a token lefty handler. I liked that you pulled the trigger a little more last game and stretched the field
I feel we need to step up our D on marking the disc. Also next week if everyone could get there and ready to go a little before the game I'd like to go over zone offense and defence.
Keep up the positive attitudes and support for the team. Hope you guys had fun last night.
