Week 4
Aqua was able to walk away with two wins against Orchid and Heather Lake Blue this week.
Aqua v Orchid 9-8
This was a hotly contested game that should be interesting come rematch time.
Aqua v Heather Lake Blue 8-4
After making the elder Woodcock dry heave from guarding me last week I was looking forward to trying to do the same to the younger Woodcock. Unfortunately Jon Staron matched up across from me. While I did not pull a Woodcock, we’ll just say it might have looked like Jon was more or less unguarded.
Josh- Not in attendance
Tate- Not in attendance.
Gerard- The inner competitor has been unleashed this year in Gerard. It is definitely fun to watch.
Jon- Jon played some serious D for us this week. It is his first year in Summer league and already he is letting his presence be known.
Becca- Was definitely missed last week. A big contributor to the wins, she makes catching look so effortless with her good field awareness and athleticism.
Jim- Becca’s brother had some nice connections with the family this week. It’s like they are inside of each other’s head. Just remember Jim, at least when you turf the Frisbee you can say someone handblocked you, whereas Brophy can only say “I did my best”.
Chuck- Becca’s dad had some solid points for us. Instead of Aqua we may soon be known as team Hurley.
Angela- Angela had several nice catches this week. With only two ladies, Angela was required to play lots of points for us. I believe she did a great job of it.
Brady- Brady had great cuts and throws this week. Brady has a knack for getting open. As the season progresses I am sure he’ll have a decent share of our points.
Phillip- Phillip had some nice grabs and great defense. By end of the year we will get him to just huck it when he has me wide open running. To Philip’s credit seeing me running might have put him in a state of shock, much like if we were to ever see Cody without a Big Mac in his hand.
Jeremy- Jeremy had some nice grabs and good decision making. For example: As Jon Staron was guarding me, Jeremy turfed it instead of completing the throw to me. This was an awesome decision since it prevented me from getting handblocked by Jon and earning negative fantasy points.
Chops- While there was no layout D on Universe point this year against Orchid, Chops had a solid night. Our flow, offensively and defensively always seems smoother when he is on the line.
Matt- Matt has the unenviable task of guarding each team’s best player. From our results you can see Matt does a great job at this. He is also very versatile on offense able to handle, cut, and sky deep.
Miz- Last week I was picturing myself sitting on the sidelines enjoying a juicebox listening to the entertainment from the megaphone. In my head this was going to be awesome, much like in Paul’s head he doesn’t have a sweater on under his shirt. However in reality Paul is a hairy bastard and the megaphone while funny may not be brought out again until playoffs, when it will for sure be awesome;). Of course we don’t need no stinkin megaphone for “Hammer” chants.
Ryan*- If only the disk had numbers written on it, then Ryan being an Actuary might be able to read the disk.
*Ryan’s comments courtesy of the man with a megaphone, Miz.
